We are seeking a Building Surveyor / Senior Building Surveyor with a mix of survey, professional and contract expertise to join a growing building surveying team.


This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to strengthen the team and further develop the business, working with existing clients and assisting in developing new business. You will work closely with the Head of Building Surveying to help achieve your career goals and aspirations. The day-to-day duties of the successful candidate will vary from Party Wall instructions through to building surveys, condition surveys, feasibility studies and the design and management of construction projects which could range in value from £100,000 up to £10m. In addition, you will be required to assist with preparing fee and quality submissions.


As part of the role you will be responsible for managing junior members of staff and supporting APC candidates. You will also be responsible for managing and developing individual clients and could be appointed to head up certain survey in services, dependant on experience.

Person Specification:The ideal candidate should demonstrate a track record of service excellence and commercial success, with a good record of delivery across either residential, education or local government sectors. They should be committed to delivering a proactive approach to the role and have the following skill set:

  • Degree qualified in building surveying or similar technical discipline

  • MRICS membership

  • Ability to successfully manage complex projects

  • Excellent report writing skills and ability to provide first class advice to clients

  • Excellent specification in writing skills

  • Detailed understanding of procurement and JCX contracts

  • Track record of managing contracts from inception to completion

  • Able to prioritise workload and deliver it to deadlines

  • Previous experience of working with a consultancy

  • Full driving licence
