​A Nottinghamshre based consultancy require a Principal Engineer / Planner to join a small team specialising in transport and highway solutions, for projects around the country. The Company takes great pride in delivering successful outcomes for its clients, by being adaptable and meticulous in overcoming technical obstacles to achieving planning consent.

Job Purpose:

To manage a small team delivering successful technical solutions to complex planning issues.

Candidate Specification:

• 5 – 8 + years of Engineer / Planning experience.

• Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

• Preparation of complex junction layouts as hand drawn scaled drawings and using AutoCAD.

• Proficient in the use of junction modelling software to assess capacity performance and identify suitable mitigating improvements.

• Produce Appeal Statements and provide technical assistance in the preparation of Inquiry documents.

• Responsibility for preparing detailed technical reports identifying suitable solutions to issues that arise.

• Delivering all work in line with adopted design standards and policies, alongside the company’s own standard procedures.

• Responsibility for mentoring and management of a small team.

• Demonstrate a proven ability to undertake business development and secure instructions from new Clients.

• HNC / Degree level education.

• Full driving licence. Having a car available for work would be advantageous.
