​Our Client:

Our client is a leading housebuilding firm which has been successful and has been a well-established company in the construction industry for a number of years.

The role will require the successful applicants to be talented at approaching every day with an analytical mindset, as well as having the confidence to liaise and negotiate with suppliers.

The regional commercial team are integral for the successful delivery of our client’s sites. This is an exciting role for a proven professional in the commercial side of the business. The Quantity Surveyor role within the commercial team is a diverse and challenging role which will see you liaising with suppliers to influencing site budgets.  

Duties Include:

  • Collaborate and communicate with departments across the company to improve the cost effectiveness and ensure the timely delivery of undergoing projects as well as contribute cost advice on every aspect of the build when needed.

  • Form a close relationship with the teams which are on site and indulge and learn the detailed knowledge of your allocated site by maintaining a site presence, by visiting regularly and attending site meetings.

  • Conserve budgets for developments, whilst assisting in the preparation of site budgets and undertaking site valuations.

  • Taking on the responsibility for processing all contractor, subcontractor and consultant orders furthermore dealing with all the payments

  • Negotiate and liaise with subcontractors to ensure the sufficient resources are available and used efficiently, furthermore assist in the monitoring of the contractor’s performance and make suitable evaluations while doing so

  • Monitoring the correct recharge and reconciliation of any costs which relate to shared costs items with any other company offices as well as external companies.

Requirements:

  • Previously experienced a similar role within the residential housebuilding industry.

  • A degree or higher education course which is accredited by the Institution for Chartered Surveyors (RICS). A strong knowledge and capabilities with experience of Microsoft Office. This is a brilliant opportunity to work and be part of a well-functioning and respected FTSE 100 company.
