Our client is seeking a Senior Land & Planning Manager who will play a key part in the journey managing schemes from initial identification of land to its acquisition (freeholds, options, hybrids and promotion agreements) and beyond. You will be responsible for establishing effective strategies for land interests to be promoted to ensure deliverable housing land for development. Part of your duties will be responsibility for identifying and managing the Strategic Land assets in the operating areas covered by the regional business units. A primary focus of the role will be on land, with planning management dependant on candidate experience and career aspirations.

Responsibilities

• Acquisition of sites through saturation surveys of key locations, not relying on open market

opportunities

• Structure option, hybrids, promotion, freehold contracts to secure land interests on appriate

terms

• Understand, negotiate and lead on consortium agreements, collaboration agreements,

extensions, renewals, variations and overages

• Local plan promotion work, including managing consultants, engaging with local authorities and

other stakeholders

• Liaison with landowners over progress on site promotion

• The monitoring of competitor activity

• Community engagement on site promotions and planning applications

• Taking ownership of project viability and delivery

• Production of progress reports on key projects

• Produce and manage budgets and professional fees

• Produce scheme viabilities

• Management of fee spend in line with budget forecasts

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in a similar role within residential housebuilding

• Existing contact agent network and desire to Build strong internal and external contacts

• Strong project management skills across functional teams to deliver projects within time and budget.

• Strong stakeholder management and experience working up to Board level.
